Insights and Reflections by Minister A. Francine Green

“The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish. There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death.” (Proverbs 14:11-12)

When I first penned “Speaking Spiritual Truths: Navigating Through Uncertainty” in 2019, the world was a different place. It was a time of upheaval, yes, but also one of hope and transformation. That moment, rich with its own challenges and revelations, shaped the reflections and insights shared within this post. Since then, the landscape of our collective experience has shifted dramatically. It has brought forth new trials. We also face new questions. Most importantly, we have gained new understandings.

It is with this evolving awareness that I feel compelled to revisit and expand upon the themes of this work. The truths I sought to illuminate remain steadfast. Yet, the ways in which we navigate uncertainty have grown more nuanced. They are more urgent and, in some ways, more profound.

This updated post is not only a reflection of how much the world has changed. It is also a testament to how spiritual truths can serve as a compass through even the most turbulent times. I hope these words will resonate with you anew. May they offer solace, clarity, and strength for the path ahead.

In uncertain times, it is crucial to discern the world through God’s heavenly perspective. This is more essential than relying on our limited human view. As human beings, we often see only fragments of the picture—fragments shaped by earthly concerns and fleeting emotions. God is infinitely wise. He sees the beginning from the end. He orchestrates His purposes through the flow of time and the choices of humanity.

Revisiting Messages from the Past

Recently, I felt the Holy Spirit’s nudge to revisit blog posts I wrote between 2016 and 2019. These reflections, born out of prayer and observation, carry insights into events and spiritual truths that remain profoundly relevant. God desires to bring divine order into our lives. His power flows through us to bless those around us. Today, as then, He speaks to us, urging us to align our hearts with His will.

August 2016: God Still Speaks

In August 2016, I found myself weeping for our nation. The surge in racial violence, social unrest, and natural disasters weighed heavily on my spirit. California faced unprecedented fire tornadoes, Louisiana suffered destructive flooding, and the nation felt the ripple effects of division and despair. These events served as wake-up calls. They are signposts of the last days as described by the Apostle Paul. He wrote of creation groaning in labor pains for redemption (Romans 8:18-24).

Hurricanes in Texas, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, and Florida have occurred since that time. Devastating wildfires have burned in California. Earthquakes in Hawaii, Mexico, Indonesia, and Delhi have happened. These events have further underscored the urgency of these warnings. As believers, we are not immune to suffering. Yet, we are called to lift our eyes to the hope of glory that awaits us. This is a promise that far outweighs any present hardship.

October 2016: Vote for Righteousness

Leading up to the 2016 presidential election, I wrote about the importance of voting with righteousness and moral clarity. How we vote reflects the beliefs of our hearts. As Christians, we have a responsibility to speak out against unrighteousness, for where injustice reigns, peace and prosperity can’t flourish. “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you” (Psalm 89:14).

Issues like the sanctity of life, the definition of marriage, and the treatment of immigrants and minorities remain pressing concerns. Double-mindedness has no place in the heart of a believer. We must pray for the wisdom and courage needed. We need this wisdom and courage to stand upright before God. It’s essential while advocating for justice in our society.

November 2016: Moving Forward as One Nation Under God

The election of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States intensified the divide within our nation. Some were elated, while others coined the phrase “not my president.” Social media and news outlets reflected the growing discord. This division has deepened over time, hindering our leaders from working together for the common good.

As I reflect on this period, I am reminded that earthly authorities govern under the Constitution. Nevertheless, God remains the ultimate judge. His purposes will always prevail. “Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him” (Psalm 115:3). We are called to trust in His sovereignty. We should pray that our leaders seek unity and righteousness. “A kingdom divided against itself can’t stand” (Matthew 12:25).

Recognizing God’s Signs

Throughout history, God has provided signs and markers to guide His people back to Him. Today, the same call resounds: “Return to me, and I will return to you” (Zechariah 1:3). The moral and spiritual decline in our nation shows in self-centeredness. It is clear in pride. The lack of godliness is described in 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Yet, even in a landscape of decay, God’s mercy and grace remain. He waits patiently for us to turn from our ways and embrace His truth.

Looking Ahead

As a nation, we face critical challenges. The failure of our leadership to work together in unity threatens our stability. Yet, the Church has an opportunity to rise as a light in the darkness, promoting reconciliation, justice, and steadfast faith. It is time to heed the Holy Spirit’s voice. We should align our lives with God’s order. We must trust that His purposes will prevail.

A Final Encouragement

God’s Word assures us that His plans are unshakable, His purposes eternal. May we, as His people, strive to walk uprightly, remaining steadfast in hope and truth. Let us fix our eyes on Him who sees the beginning from the end. We should trust in His unfailing love and guidance.

Blessings,

Minister A. Francine Green
