Awakening: Seeing Through Spiritual Eyes

Understanding God’s Call for Spiritual Clarity and Awakening

If you ever feel lost or uncertain about the world, you’re not alone. Many people are searching for hope, purpose, and answers—especially when things around us feel confusing or out of control. Awakening 12-8 is about finding that hope by tuning in to what God wants to show us, both as individuals and as a community.

The Big Idea

God gives special help, or “grace,” to those who are humble and open to learning, not to those who think they know it all. This message is especially important now. What we believe and share can make a huge difference in people’s lives—even for eternity.

As believers, we’re encouraged to look beyond what we see in the news or on social media. Instead, we should seek to understand what God is doing in the world and what He wants from us right now. That means paying attention to what the Bible says and listening for God’s guidance, so that we can be a positive influence and a “voice in the wilderness” in today’s changing world.

Listening for God’s Voice

The Bible describes moments when God invites people to “come up here” and see things from His perspective, like looking through a window into heaven. Sometimes, this call isn’t heard with our ears but felt deep in our hearts or spirits. When we follow that call—by reading the Bible, praying, and paying attention to the Holy Spirit—we start to see things in a new way.

The Holy Spirit, who lives in everyone who follows Christ, helps us understand things we couldn’t figure out on our own. We start to “see” and “hear” what God is saying, even if it doesn’t make sense in human terms. It’s like putting on special glasses that let us see the bigger picture.

Why Spiritual Perspective Matters

When life feels overwhelming, it’s easy to focus on all the problems. But God wants us to look beyond the chaos and trust that He’s working out a bigger plan. Through the Holy Spirit, we can get clarity and direction for our lives, our families, our churches, and even our country.

The Bible is full of prayers asking God to give wisdom, open our eyes, and fill us with hope. God wants to show us amazing things, but we have to be open and willing to listen and look for them.

How God Speaks

God communicates in many ways: through the Bible, through wise advice, through dreams and visions, and sometimes through a strong sense or feeling in our hearts. All of these are meant to help us understand God’s plans and to encourage us to seek Him first.

The most important thing is to stay focused on God and His Word. No matter how God speaks, it should always point us back to Jesus and to living out His love in our daily lives.

The Battle for Our Minds and Hearts

There’s a real struggle going on for our attention and our thoughts. The Bible says that if we ignore God’s wisdom, we can get lost and confused. But if we ask God to help us see clearly, He will open our minds and hearts to truth.

Sometimes, negative influences in the world can try to block us from seeing what God is doing. That’s why it’s so important to keep our hearts pure, stay connected to God, and be disciplined in our thoughts and actions.

Looking for Awakening and Revival

Many people are praying for a spiritual awakening—for themselves, their families, their communities, and even the whole country. True awakening happens when God’s Spirit stirs people’s hearts and brings new life, hope, and transformation.

God has shaken things up in the past to get people’s attention, and the Bible says He may do it again. When that happens, it’s a chance for us to listen, learn, and grow closer to Him.

Final Thoughts

If you’re curious about Christianity or want to grow in your faith, this is a great time to seek God with a humble, open heart. Spend time reading the Bible, praying, and asking God to help you see things from His point of view.

Remember: God wants to give us wisdom, hope, and understanding—especially in uncertain times. As we listen for His voice and follow His lead, we’ll find strength and peace, and we’ll be ready to help others find it too.

May God bless you on your journey.
