Reflecting on the State of the Christian Faith

A Personal Perspective

Sometimes, when we look at what the Christian faith has become in today’s world, it’s hard not to feel disappointed. Many of us remember learning about the core values of Christianity—love, kindness, forgiveness, and humility. These were the things that were supposed to set a good example for how we treat others and live our lives.

But nowadays, it feels like those basics have been lost in the noise. Instead of focusing on helping others or showing compassion, a lot of what we see is arguing, division, and even judgment. Churches sometimes seem more interested in power, money, or being right than in living out the teachings of Jesus. It can be tough to watch, especially for people who just want to see faith lived out in a genuine and caring way.

What’s even sadder is that many people don’t seem to notice this change. Maybe they’re caught up in tradition, or maybe they just don’t want to admit that things have shifted. It’s like looking at a familiar place and realizing it’s changed so much that you hardly recognize it.

This isn’t about blaming anyone, but about feeling a deep sadness for what’s been lost. The heart of faith should be about love and understanding, not about judgment or exclusion. My hope is that, somewhere along the way, we can get back to those basics and remember what really matters.

At the end of the day, faith should bring people together, not drive them apart. It’s up to each of us to look honestly at where things stand, and if we can, try to bring back the spirit of kindness and compassion that the Christian faith was meant to inspire.

Pray for the Church and the nation!
