Faith in Action: Building a Kingdom of Hope

What it means to live out your faith every day

The message of the gospel is actually pretty straightforward: it calls us to three things—believe in Jesus Christ, belong to the Church, and build for God’s kingdom.

First, to believe in Jesus means to trust him with your life and to see him as the one who shows us how to truly live. It’s not just about ticking a box on a belief form—it’s about letting his life, his love, and his teachings shape the way you think and act.

Second, belonging to the Church isn’t about joining a club or attending a building once a week. It’s about being part of a community, supporting each other, sharing life together, and helping each other grow. We’re called to be a family that loves, forgives, and encourages one another.

Third, building for the kingdom is all about making the world a better place—starting with ourselves. It means working together to show what God’s new creation looks like: a community where kindness, honesty, and justice are not just ideals, but everyday realities.

But there’s more to it. If we really take this seriously, we’ll find ourselves walking in Jesus’ footsteps—sometimes that means choosing the hard road, standing up for what’s right, or even sacrificing our own comfort for the good of others. That’s what it means to “walk the way of the cross.” Through this, we help create a church that truly reflects God’s beauty, showing the world a new way to be human, one that’s not trapped by the endless chase for pleasure or power, but is free to live fully and generously.

The Bible tells us we’re meant to be a “kingdom of priests” or a “royal priesthood.” This is just a fancy way of saying we’re called to serve and help heal a messed-up world—a world full of pain, sorrow, and brokenness. Living out your faith is actually an act of rebellion—not against people, but against the things that hurt and enslave humanity. Every time you choose faith, you’re rejecting the empty promises of money, fame, or pleasure as the meaning of life. Every time you choose to love, you’re pushing back against selfishness and hate.

So, in simple terms: your faith is your stand against the idols of today’s world. Your love is your protest against the darkness of the times. The gospel is an invitation to live a life that’s different, to show the world there’s a better way, and to help build a community that shines with hope and beauty.
