Why Believing in What You Can’t See Can Change Your Life
Faith means believing in something even when you can’t see it or fully understand how it will happen. According to the Bible (Hebrews 11:1), faith is being sure of what we hope for and confident in what we don’t see. This idea might sound mysterious, but it plays a big part in many people’s lives and can truly change the way we face challenges.
What Is Faith?
Think of faith as trust. It’s trusting that good things will happen, even if there isn’t proof right now. Instead of focusing only on what’s right in front of us, faith asks us to look beyond today’s problems and trust in something bigger—God’s promises, love, and plans. It’s the courage to step forward, even when the path isn’t clear.
My Story: Stepping Into the Unknown
Back in 2004, I took a big step of faith. I didn’t know what would happen, but I felt God had a special purpose for me. I became a minister, not because I had everything figured out, but because I trusted God to guide me. I didn’t walk this road alone—prayer, faith, and the support of others helped me keep going, even when things got tough.
Faith Makes a Difference
Faith isn’t about sitting still and waiting. It’s active and powerful. Jesus once said that even if you have a tiny bit of faith, you can do amazing things—like telling a mountain to move (Matthew 17:20). Faith helps us keep going when life is hard, and it helps us see possibilities that we might otherwise miss.
Faith When Life Feels Uncertain
Everyone goes through tough times. Sometimes the future feels scary or unclear. During those moments, faith is like an anchor—it keeps us steady. You don’t need to have all the answers; you just need to trust that God does. Life has its seasons—good and bad—but having faith means believing that there’s a purpose behind it all, even if we don’t see it yet.
Protecting Your Faith
Faith is precious, but it can be shaken by doubt or disappointment. It’s easy to question things when life doesn’t go the way we hoped. But just like Moses trusted God and led his people to freedom even when things seemed impossible, we can choose to focus on God’s promises instead of our problems. It helps to remind ourselves, “I trust what God has said, no matter what is happening around me.”
Faith and Prayer Go Together
Praying and having faith are like two sides of the same coin. When we pray, we’re talking to God and asking for help. Faith gives those prayers power. We can pray for others, but everyone must decide to trust God for themselves. Support your friends and family, but don’t let their struggles pull down your own faith. Instead, stand with them in hope and prayer.
Keep Going: Faith Is a Journey
Having faith isn’t just a one-time thing—it’s something we carry with us every day. The Bible says we should “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). That means trusting God even when we can’t see how things will work out. Don’t give up, even when it’s hard. The good things you’re hoping for may take time, but if you keep believing, they will come.
The Gift of Faith
Faith is a gift—it helps us trust in the invisible and believe in the impossible. It opens up new possibilities and brings hope, even in the darkest times. So, hold on to faith. Trust that God is working behind the scenes and that good things are on their way. Don’t let fear or doubt stop you. Step forward, believe in what you can’t yet see, and keep moving toward the life you’ve been called to live. The journey may not be easy, but the rewards are worth it.
