What It Means to Be Known by God

A serene moment of prayer and reflection, symbolizing the deep connection with God’s love and knowledge.

Finding Comfort and Hope in God’s Knowledge of Us

Many people talk about the importance of knowing God, but there’s something even bigger and more comforting: God knows us. The Bible says we are “engraved on the palms of his hands,” meaning that God always remembers us and never forgets about us.

Our connection with God is only possible because he first chose to know us and care for us. God knows everything about us—our strengths and our weaknesses, the good things and the things we wish we could change. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Still, his love doesn’t change or give up, no matter what he sees.

This is a powerful truth. It means that we never have to worry about God being surprised or disappointed by anything he discovers about us. He already knows the worst about us, and yet he still chooses to love and help us. That kind of love brings real comfort and peace. It gives us courage to keep going, knowing that God is always paying attention to us and working for our good.

It’s also very humbling to realize that God sees the hidden parts of our lives—things no one else knows. But this truth also gives us a reason to praise and love God. Even though he knows everything, he still wants us to be his friends. He even gave his Son, Jesus, so we could have this relationship with him.

In the end, what matters most is not just that we know God, but that he knows us—completely and lovingly. This knowledge should fill us with hope, humble us, and inspire us to worship.
