“But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him?” 1 John 3:17

The central purpose of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has always been to make healthcare more accessible and affordable by keeping insurance costs down for individuals and families across the country. The ACA introduced measures such as subsidies, expanded Medicaid, and insurance exchanges to help reduce premiums and out-of-pocket expenses. However, with changing economic conditions and evolving healthcare needs, the question arises: what’s the plan now? It is crucial for leaders to make decisions that truly serve the common good, prioritizing policies that protect people from rising costs and do not create further barriers to care. The path forward should focus on innovative solutions and bipartisan cooperation to ensure that insurance remains affordable while preserving the quality and accessibility of healthcare for all.
