What the Bible Says About Deception, Division, and Our True Hope

Simple Thoughts on Unity, Worldly Distractions, and God’s Plan for the Future

Have you ever stopped to think about how easy it is to get fooled these days? I was thinking about what the Bible says about the end times, and how so many people could be led astray. There’s so much noise around us—arguments about race, immigration, even mixing faith with politics—that it’s easy to miss what’s really going on. The Bible warns us not to get swept up in these distractions. Sometimes, what looks important in the moment is actually part of a bigger deception.

Lots of people dream of a perfect world, where everyone gets along and everything is just right. But the Bible says this world won’t last forever—no matter how hard we try, we can’t fix all the problems ourselves. Chasing after a “utopia” is like chasing the wind, because only God can truly make things new.

The Bible also warns that people perish because they lack knowledge—they forget God’s ways and don’t care to remember or pass them on. When leaders and regular folks ignore what God says, trouble follows. If we turn our blessings into reasons to forget God, those very things can turn into shame. When people encourage each other to do wrong, thinking it’s no big deal or that it will help them, it never works out in the end. Sin always eats away at you from the inside, making faith feel lifeless and dull.

Still, the Bible gives us a beautiful picture of the future. In Revelation, it talks about a huge crowd from every nation—people of every background—standing together. Galatians 3:28 says that in God’s family, all those old divisions—race, status, gender—don’t matter anymore. God values everyone who belongs to Jesus, no matter if you’re Black, white, Hispanic, Asian, or anything else. Acts 17 reminds us that this worldwide family will gather before God’s throne.

One day, God will make everything new. The old world will pass away. There’ll be a new heaven and a new earth, where God lives with people face to face. There won’t be any more death, pain, crying, or evil. The holy city, the New Jerusalem, will come down, and believers will live forever with God in bodies and hearts made perfect.

All this isn’t just a dream or a “spiritual idea”—the Bible says this is the real hope for those who trust in God. It’s the final part of God’s plan: fixing everything that went wrong and bringing His people into the perfect home He always wanted for them. Until then, let’s not get distracted by the noise and arguments. Let’s keep our eyes on God’s truth and the promise He’s prepared for us.
