With everything going on in the world today, it’s easy to feel uncertain or overwhelmed. That’s why it matters so much to learn more about Jesus—not just by remembering Bible stories, but by actually getting to know Him personally. The Bible encourages us to keep growing in our faith and understanding of Jesus, letting His love and guidance shape who we are. Grace is like a free gift from God that gives us the strength to handle life’s ups and downs and helps us live in a way that makes Him proud. As we discover more about Jesus and what He’s done for us, our faith becomes stronger and more meaningful. This isn’t just good for us—it also helps us become kinder and share God’s love with others. The Bible says Jesus deserves all the credit and praise, always. When we say “Amen,” we’re saying we believe these truths and trust God’s promises. So, especially in these uncertain times, let’s keep growing in both God’s grace and our knowledge of Jesus, trusting Him to guide us every step of the way.
Developing a Christ-Like Character in Everyday Life
If you’ve ever wondered what it really means to learn more about Jesus, you’re not alone. Peter’s second letter in the Bible is full of advice for anyone wanting a deeper relationship with Jesus—not just in what they know, but in how they live. Peter wrote this letter because he knew his time was short, and wanted believers to stay alert and remember the teachings passed down by Jesus’ apostles. His main advice? Keep growing in God’s grace and understanding of Jesus. But what does that look like? It’s not just learning facts or memorizing verses—it’s about building a character that mirrors Jesus. Peter lists eight qualities to aim for: trusting God (faith), doing the right thing (virtue), understanding (knowledge), being disciplined (self-control), sticking with it during hard times (perseverance), being devoted to God (godliness), caring about others (brotherly kindness), and showing love to everyone. These traits build on each other and work together, just like different voices in a choir create beautiful music. But it takes effort and commitment; Peter stresses the importance of being eager and working hard. Just being a Christian for a long time doesn’t mean you’ll automatically grow, much like a teacher who doesn’t improve after many years unless she actively learns new things. So, growing in Jesus’ knowledge means not just knowing about Him, but becoming more like Him every day. It’s a journey that takes dedication, with each quality helping the others, so we can show Jesus’ love to those around us.
