In February 2008, I taught a prophetic message titled “Vision and Seed Faith Will Get You There.” I was listening to this message this morning while contemplating where I am today. At the time the message was in line with the vision given by the visionary of the church I was a member of. Yet it was a seed sown into my heart that has grown and continues to grow as I pursue God’s plan. I wanted to share a few highlights from that message that I believe is relevant for today.
Vision comes in “seed’ form. It starts with a seed. A seed takes time to grow and mature to bring forth a harvest. Habakkuk 2:3 (NIV) says, “For the revelation (vision) awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”
Vision starts with a visionary. God imparts and communicates the vision through the visionary. He entrusts that vision to someone He can trust to go forward in faith and obedience to fulfill the vision. Abraham was a visionary leader. In Genesis 12:1 (AMP) God told Abram, “Go away from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you; And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you [abundantly], And make your name great (exalted, distinguished); And you shall be a blessing [a source of great good to others];” Abraham built an altar and sowed a seed of faith . . .
The vision sown in seed form bought about a transformation in my life. If I had not received the word in my heart I would never be able to grow spiritually and walk out this journey. God began to communicate His heart to me through His Word. Training my ears to hear to hear the mystery of the Kingdom. In Mark 4:11-12 (AMP) it reads, “He said to them, “The mystery of the kingdom of God has been given to you [who have teachable hearts], but those who are outside [the unbelievers, the spiritually blind] get everything in parables, so that they will continually look but not see, and they will continually hear but not understand, otherwise they might turn [from their rejection of the truth] and be forgiven.”
Vision comes from the flow of redemptive revelation. Without redemptive revelation people perish. They perish when they don’t have a revelation of God’s redemptive plan for man. “Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God].” Proverbs 29:18 (AMP)
I begin to see things in the Spirit. God’s redemptive plan for mankind. How God was raising up and end-time army of servants (apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists) who would fulfill His purposes in the earth. Life became more than going to work and coming home . . . I saw a vision of how to raise my children as a godly mother. We need revelation so our children and children’s children will have and understand of who they are in Christ to impact future generations. My life prospered in wisdom and understanding of God and His will not just for me, but for His children.
We have to die to be resurrected into newness of life. “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels–a plentiful harvest of new lives” (John 12:24 NLT).
We must connect to the corporate vision for the Body of Christ!
