The light within our nation has grown darker. America is in a moral and spiritual crisis. Look at any news feed or news broadcast and get the latest headlines. Day to day political eruptions, top stories and trending stories of devastation, crime, immorality and so forth.
While the world grows darker, Scripture says that the glory of God will increase upon God’s people (Isaiah 60:1-2). Isaiah said it clearly: “For the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord shall rise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you” (Isa. 60:2). A time of deep darkness is coming, yet at the same time, the glory of God will be seen on His people in an unprecedented way. In essence, Haggai prophesied the same thing, declaring that the Lord will shake heaven and earth, the sea and all the nations, and much more.
God’s glory will be released that will point many to Jesus. Signs and wonders, miracles, unusual manifestations of God’s Spirit that point people to the Living God. Many are speaking of an outpouring of God’s Spirit unlike we have ever witnessed before. There have been modern-day outpourings which have touched nations. The greatest glory has yet to be revealed.
The Lord is building His Church and the gates of Hell will not prevail. The genuine outpourings of the Spirit over the years have served to raise up a remnant of believers preparing for the coming move of God’s Spirit.
Are we ready for a greater wave of revival than any of us have ever experienced? Several years ago, the Lord began to encourage me that the glory is coming. Looking back fourteen years later I find myself yearning for whatever Holy Spirit is preparing us for.
2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” The world is blinded to the light of the gospel. We are the light! As believers, we called to put aside the deeds of darkness and clothe ourselves with Christ. We must shine our light by placing it in the most strategic places. Matthew 5:14-16 says, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
We must follow the path of truth wherever it leads us. We must keep our eyes fixed on Almighty God and our hearts established firmly on His everlasting love. Apostle Paul says in Colossians 1:27 that Christ in you is the hope of glory.
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18
