“The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish. There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.”
(Proverbs 14:11-12)
In these last days, it is crucial for us to see things from God’s perspective and not man’s. As human beings, we have a tendency to see things from an earthly perspective, while God sees things from a heavenly perspective. He sees the beginning from the end.
I sensed the Holy Spirit’s encouragement to revisit several of my blog posts written between 2016 and 2019. These posts will be a compilation of insights I sensed happening during that time. God wants to bring proper order into our lives, so that His power can flow through His people to become a blessing to others. God is speaking today and He wants to speak to us.
I’ll begin with August 2016, “God Still Speaks.” The fact that God still speaks today is undeniable. In August 2016, I found myself weeping for the conditions in our nation. There was a surge in racial violence and rioting, a lack of unity in our country, unusual weather conditions – fire tornadoes in California, flooding in Louisiana, and more.… I was grieved about is the loss of lives, homes, and peoples’ livelihood? So much devastation and destruction was taking place it should have been a wake up call of things to come. Sensed that time there have been hurricanes in Texas, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, and Florida. There have been devastating wildfires in California. Earthquakes divers places such as in Hawaii, Mexico, Indonesia, and Delhi. These are indeed the last of the last days. The Apostle Paul said, “I am convinced that any suffering we endure is less than nothing compared to the magnitude of glory that is about to be unveiled within us. The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious ons and daughters! For against its will the universe itself has had to endure the empty futility resulting from the consequences of human sin. But now, with eager expectation, all creation longs for freedom from its slavery to decay and to experience with us the wonderful freedom coming to God’s children. To this day we are aware of the universal agony and groaning of creation, as if it were in the contractions of labor for childbirth. And it’s not just creation. We who have already experienced the firstfruits of the Spirit[w] also inwardly groan as we passionately long to experience our full status as God’s sons and daughters—including our physical bodies being transformed. For this is the hope of our salvation” (Rom. 8:18-24).
Later, in October 2016 before the election, I penned a post Vote for Righteousness. I was sensing the importance and urgency for believers that how we voted would determine the hand of God and His grace over this nation. How we vote reflects what we truly believe in our hearts. In this time of conflict, we must always choose to vote righteously and morally as believers. If we don’t speak out against unrighteousness then injustice will reign in the earth. “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you” (Ps. 89:14).
As believers we cannot be double-minded on the issues at hand – sanctity of life, abortion, marriage, family, race, immigration…etcetera. Where are we today on these issues? We are still at odds as a nation over these issues.
The thought of voting in the 2016 election was grievous to me as I watched
the discord and disunity among our nation’s leaders and political parties. Where are we today? The lack of unity has escalated to a place where very little can get done because our nation’s leader choose not to work together. Can we walk upright before God and be double minded at the same time? Can people walk together if they don’t agree? Let’s continue to pray for our nation’s leaders. When the righteous lead the nation will be at peace.
Let move forward to November 2016, It’s time to Move Forward as One Nation Under God, Indivisible. The election had come and gone. Donald J. Trump was elected as our 45th President. Many were discouraged while others were elated. Some were coining the phrase “not my president.” It was hard to turn on the television, social media without being inundated with further “proof” that we are a nation divided.
Like many others, I was am still concerned about the condition of our country, and more so the spiritual condition of our nation, and the church. Spiritually, I was grieving as I saw a steep decline in godly principles occurring day-by-day across our land. I could see spiritually that decisions made by others would impact the future of many in a negative way, although it may have been intended for good.
Albeit, the Supreme Court is the final judge in all cases involving laws of Congress, and the highest law of all — the Constitution, God is the ultimate and final judge. The laws of God were written for our protection that we may freely worship Him and not to prevent us from doing as we please in the flesh. He and only He can see the beginning from the end and does what He pleases. “Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him” (Ps. 115:3). His purposes will stand. “Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are now far from my righteousness. I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed.”(Is. 46:9-13
America has spiraled downward into a land of people who care less and less about living according to what’s pleasing to God and more about what’s pleasing to the flesh. The Holy Word says, “People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God–having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people (2 Tim. 3:1-5).
God continually releases signs and markers to get our attention–signs that say,”Therefore tell the people: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD Almighty. Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the LORD” ( Zech. 1:3-4). We have to be willing to turn when the time comes to see the signs and markers. We must recognize the signs and markers telling us to return to God (Jer. 31:20-22).
I do believe that the failure of our nation’s leadership will continue to spiral downwards if they refuse to work together in unity for the good of this nation. A nation divided against itself cannot stand, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand“ (Matt. 12:25 KJV).
Blessings,
Dr. Francine
