In the Beginning: His Story Part 2

God has always desired to dwell among His people (Gen. 3:8; Eze. 37:27). We can see that clearly from the beginning of creation. The man Adam and his wife Eve would hear the Lord God walking about the garden in the evening cool breezes among the trees (Gen. 3:8). This signifies relationship between God and man.

In establishing a relationship with man God reveals His character to His people through His interactions with them. Knowing God’s character, attributes and distinctive qualities helps us understand what God is like.

In these posts, I hope to share insight on God’s plan of redemption after the fall to restore man to His original intent.

Let’s start with the character of God. As I studied the Word of God, I wanted to know what it meant to really know God and not just about Him. I wanted to know how to balance my Christian life in light of living in this world or world system. In this fleshly body. I wanted to know how to balance spiritual experiences with Biblical truths (sound doctrine) and not get caught up in mystical experiences.

I faithfully studied and obeyed God’s Word, prayed, and attended church, Bible Study and leadership classes. Then one day I heard the Spirit say “Come up here.”  It wasn’t an audible voice, but I knew it was scriptural. I began to listen for the Holy Spirit’s leading and guidance.

God’s desire is to dwell among His people. The key to understanding mankind’s presence on earth is to understand God’s original intent. If we know what God intended we can make better sense of where we are now.

What is intent? Intent is defined as original purpose. It is important for us to know God’s original purpose otherwise we will not be able to live out our daily lives trusting in the One who created us for His will and good pleasure. For too long we have misunderstood God’s original purpose for us on the earth.

There is so much more to life than what many of you are experiencing every day.  God has a purpose for everything He does.  As Kingdom citizens, we are all a part of His overall plan. God’s Knowing His purpose will lead to a fulfilling and rewarding life here on earth.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Eph. 2:10 ESV)
