What Are We To Do With The Prophetic Words Given To Us

What are we to do with the prophetic words given to us, and those released through prophetic writings. Some words may general and some specific. Many prophetic words being released today can be a pathway to your destiny. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14:5, 31,

I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.”

For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.”

As amazing as it can be to receive a personal prophecy, hear a prophetic word or word of encouragement for the new year, it can be challenging to try to figure out how to act on them.

What should we do with them? When processing and receiving a prophetic word or word of encouragement, evaluate the source of of the word, learn how to hear the voice of God and the Holy Spirit, study and know the Word, discern what’s truly for you.

If it’s a personal prophesy, record, read and meditate upon the Word daily.  The Apostle Paul told 1 Timothy 1:18-19, “18 Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, 19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.”

Many prophetic words or words of encouragement have gone out for the year 2020 and beyond. I believe 2020 will be an amazing year for God’s people who walk in obedience. This is a year to see, hear and obey what the Lord is saying. A year to decree God’s word over your life, your family, your church, community and nation. Step away from all of the distractions and things that hinder you from moving forward this year. The things (sin) that so easily besets (trouble) you.

This is a year to run with endurance the race set before you. Don’t just look for the pie in the sky (something that is pleasant to contemplate but is very unlikely to be realized.) or expect something to fall from the sky.  God’s word and promises are faithful and true!  We have to position ourselves to receive it with joy and gladness while waiting for the manifestation.

Focus more on what it truly means to be a kingdom citizen.

Hebrews 12:1 King James Version (KJV)

12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Our paths are already marked out for us.

Hebrews 12:1 The Passion Translation (TPT)

12 As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.

The path has already been marked out before us. We must let go of unbelief, judging others, bad mouthing people, lying (not telling the truth about a matter), pride (haughtiness), sexual sins, anger to run this race with passion and determination to see the fulfillment of the promise.  These things will cancel out receiving and running the race God has set before you.

What is haughtiness? Haughtiness: blatantly and disdainfully proud : having or showing an attitude of superiority and contempt for people or things perceived to be inferior

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.” Proverbs 6:16-19

Proverbs 6:16-19 The Passion Translation (TPT)

Seven Things God Hates

16 There are six evils God truly hates and a seventh that is an abomination to him: 17 Putting others down while considering yourself superior, spreading lies and rumors,
spilling the blood of the innocent, 18 plotting evil in your heart toward another,
gloating over doing what’s plainly wrong, 19 spouting lies in false testimony,
and stirring up strife between friends. These are entirely despicable to God!”

Abomination: something regarded with disgust or hatred

2extreme disgust and hatred LOATHING

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.” Colossians 3:8

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.: 1 John 1:9

For the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” James 1:20

Take time this year to sure up your faith, make whatever adjustment need to be made so that you will be well pleasing to God.  A workman that doesn’t’ need to be ashamed. @ Timothy 2:15 Faith is what pleases Him! Hebrews 11:6

Living in God’s Light

Don’t be fooled by those who speak their empty words and deceptive teachings telling you otherwise. This is what brings God’s anger upon the rebellious! Don’t listen to them or live like them at all. Once your life was full of sin’s darkness, but now you have the very light of our Lord shining through you because of your union with him. Your mission is to live as children flooded with his revelation-light! And the supernatural fruits of his light will be seen in you—goodness, righteousness, and truth. 10 Then you will learn to choose what is beautiful to our Lord.

11 And don’t even associate with the servants of darkness because they have no fruit in them; instead, reveal truth to them. 12 The very things they do in secret are too vile and filthy to even mention. 13 Whatever the revelation-light exposes, it will also correct, and everything that reveals truth is light to the soul.14 This is why the Scripture says,

“Arise, you sleeper! Rise up from the dead and the Anointed One will shine his light into you!”

Ephesians 5:6-10 The Passion Translation (TPT)
