Building On A Solid Foundation Series: Wise Or Foolish Builders

foundation

24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” Matthew 7:24-27

They don’t have a strong foundation.

A few days ago I sensed the Spirit say, “Many of God’s people do not have a solid foundation of the word or a basic understanding of God’s ways.  As believers, we need to plant our feet firmly on the foundation of the word of truth and refuse to allow the winds to move us from that place of stability.

I believe this is coming from the heart of the Father’s love for humanity in light of the present time in which we are living. He will be the sure foundation (stability) for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure. Isaiah 33:6

Christ’s Letter to Sardis Revelation 3:1-3 (TPT)

3 Write the following to the messenger of the congregation in Sardis, for these are the words of the one who holds the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars:

I know all that you do and I know that you have a reputation for being really “alive,” but you’re actually dead! 2 Wake up and strengthen all that remains before it dies, for I haven’t found your works to be perfect in the sight of my God. 3 So remember all the things you’ve received and heard, then turn back to God and obey them. For if you continue to slumber, I will come to you like a thief, and you’ll have no idea at what hour I will come.

I wanted to be rooted and grounded in the word of truth…so that I would not be tossed to and fro by every wind and doctrine. Ephesians 4:14 says, “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7

Your spiritual roots go deeply into his life as you are continually infused with strength, encouraged in every way. For you are established in the faith you have absorbed and enriched by your devotion to him!” Colossians 2:7 (TPT)
