Now is the time for us to progress beyond the basic message of Christ and advance into perfection. The foundation has already been laid for us to build upon: turning away from our dead works to embrace faith in God, teaching about different baptisms, impartation by the laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.  So with God’s enablement we will move on to deeper truths.” (Heb. 6:1-3)

There is no greater privilege or position than that of being a child of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have the privileged opportunity to be conformed to the image of Christ. To not only conform in inward character, attitudes and desire, but also being like Jesus in our behavior and interactions with others around us. It also includes being empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring God’s Kingdom to earth.

In the above passages in Hebrews 6, the author  encourages the people to grow up from a state of childhood until we all experience the fullness of what it means to know the Son of God, and finally become one perfect man (Eph. 4:13). In which all Christians are called to be partakers of. Christians must leave the principles of the doctrine of Christ to experience the fullness of what it means to know Him and the power of His resurrection (Phil. 3:10).

It’s important for Christians to understand Christ’s ultimate purpose for His Church. Now is the time for the Church to progress beyond the basic message of Christ and advance into perfection or maturity as His Body. The foundation has already been laid for us to build upon with Christ being the chief cornerstone. (Eph. 2:19-22)

Hebrews 6:1-3 instructs the believer to turn away from dead works and embrace faith in God. These passages of scripture also encourages the believer not to limit their knowledge and understanding to “teaching about different baptisms, impartation by the laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.”  Theses are considered to be foundational elementary teachings. We are not to lose, despise nor forget them.  Instead we are to hold fast to them in our hearts, while trusting that with God’s enablement we will move on to deeper truths.

It’s time for the church to move on from “useless deeds” or “dead works”. Attempts of people to please God through religion, keeping religious laws and traditions, and serving others to gain influence with God. The Holy Spirit empowers the believer to move on to deeper truths so that we can be effective in building His Kingdom.

Jesus said in John 16:13, that the Spirit of Truth or Holy Spirit will guide and unveil the reality of every truth. The Spirit won’t speak “his own message, but only what he hears from the Father, and he will reveal prophetically to you what is to come.”

God has placed along my path many amazing people who have enriched me, and added substance to my life. I am grateful for the many leaders God had placed around me over the years. I was blessed with leaders who loved me, taught me how to walk closely with God and to go on to deeper truths. As I launched out to start Beyond Church Walls Ministry apostolic and prophetic leaders and godly laypeople encouraged me to keep growing and going forward.

Throughout the course of my journey, I have been privileged to meet some of the finest people in government, business, church leaders and prophetic leaders in the world. They have added new dimensions to my perspective and understanding of the Kingdom of God and His purpose for His Church.

It is my hope in this series of blog posts to encourage you to move on to maturity. As I continue to strive to allow Christ to impart to me the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him” through deepening intimacy with him, and also allow the “light of God” to illuminate the “eyes of my imagination” flooding me with light, until I experience the “full revelation of the hope of his calling” I will be better equipped as a prophetic voice to the Church in this new decade.

We are called to demonstrate the supernatural works of Christ. Let’s go on to maturity as Christ’s Body!

Blessings,

Dr. A
