“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6
When I first started walking with God, there was such a hunger on the inside of me! I still have that hunger for the things of God. When spent time reading the Word, prayer and receiving revelation through the Holy Spirit it develop a spiritual hunger in me. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ And sure enough I began hearing and learning things I knew nothing about.
One of my greatest desires was to become a woman of substance, filled with the Spirit of God and not an empty vessel. Full of faith, rooted and grounded in love and spiritual truth. I didn’t want to be all talk and no walk! Praise God! To develop my spiritual hunger I devour the Scriptures day and night. If I was not reading the Word, I was hearing the Word. I also fellowshipped with people who possessed spiritual hunger. As I reflect on all of this, I am reminded that “in Christ, we are a new creation: The “old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Cor 5:17
My point is this: If you do not hunger after the things of God, when God is moving and revealing himself to you, you will not recognize them. You’ll dismiss them as unimportant.
