Eyes That See Prophetically (Pt. 3)

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing
without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. The lion has roared—
who will not fear? The Sovereign Lord has spoken—who can but prophesy
?” Amos 3:7-8

“For everyone who listens with an open heart will receive progressively more revelation until he has more than enough. But those who don’t listen with an open, teachable heart, even the understanding that they think they have will be taken from themThat’s why I teach the people using parables, because they think they’re looking for truth, yet because their hearts are unteachable, they never discover it. Although they will listen to me, they never fully perceive the message I speak. The prophecy of Isaiah describes them perfectly:

Although they listen carefully to everything I speak, they don’t understand a thing I say. They look and pretend to see, but the eyes of their hearts are closed.”

Our journey of faith is to be vibrant and filled with encounters with the living God. It is vital that we see with a Kingdom perspective in this hour. The alternative is to live by regulations and reasoning about Him. Instead, God invites us to live with Him, in His realm of the spirit, with His heavenly hosts. The writer of Hebrews declares that we have come to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem and to myriads of angels (Heb. 12:22).

We are now partakers of  His divine nature (2 Pet. 1:4) and we can trust the flow of His Spirit within (Jn. 7:37-39) more than we could trust the reasoning of in our mind.

The faint impressions in the mind and imagination is one of the most common ways God reveals vision to His people.  This is simply a way that God uses to reveal His will and purpose. Each way is precious if God is the source.

Most seasoned and credible prophets will confirm that the most predominant ways that God speaks to them is through the still small God thoughts in the mind and the faint impressions in the imagination. I had to learn to trust the thoughts and impressions I received in my Spirit.  What helped me is that they always aligned with the Word of God. That is why knowing God’s Word is important.

Daniel used his spiritual eyes and spiritual ears to experience the spiritual Kingdom within (Luke 17:21). Even if you only glimpse a hazy appearance at first, purpose to honor the little that you do see, and trust your spiritual eyesight will strengthen with exercise over time.

Whatever we honor, we empower. Whatever we place our attention and focus and energy on, we increase and release more of into our lives. As we mature, we should fix our spiritual eyes, gaze intently, and focus on the spirit realm without distraction.

I want to take Christianity and faith beyond the four walls of the church, outside of our church services and live the Bible every day in my everyday life.  I continually pray that the eyes of my heart be wide open and enlightened to look to see what the Spirit will reveal to me for the church (Eph. 1:18).

My prayer for you is that the eyes of your heart be wide open and enlightened to be looking to see what God is doing and not get distracted by what we see happening today.

Mercy, peace and love be yous in abundance!

Dr. A.
