“God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.” (Hebrews 6:3 NIV)
As I study about revivals, reformation and moves of the Holy Spirit over the past few decades, I find that the men and women of faith have an unyielding desire and passion for truth and seeing the whole earth filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD,” filling the earth (Habakkuk 2:14). Men and women the likes of William J. Seymour n African American, holiness preacher who initiated the Azusa Street Revival, F. F. Bosworth an American evangelist, Smith Wigglesworth: Apostle of Faith, Kathryn Kuhlman an American evangelist known for hosting healing services, Maria Buelah Woodworth-Etter an American healing evangelist. These are just a few men and women whose faith in God catapulted them into a realm of the Spirit that impacted their generation. Their paths weren’t all peaches and cream, but they all had one thing in common — faith to do the impossible!
This has also been my passion beginning in 2004 when the Lord said to me “The glory is coming,” and in 2008 to “Remain steadfast.” He is restoring His Church. God is not restoring a physical building; He’s restoring righteousness in the earth. Daniel 11:32b says, “the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
I often say this and reiterate it here: we must discern and understand the times and season we are living in so that we know what to do. We must discern the manipulation and schemes of the enemy. There is a shifting, shaking, and unsettling taking place throughout the church and around the world. God is preparing to restore divine order … His Kingdom on earth. I will share more on this in future posts.
These are the last days of the church age … they should be fulfilling days for God’s people … Christians need to understand their spiritual roots. Many Christians have been tossed to and fro with every wind and doctrines. They’ve become comfortable with hyped up messages and seem uninterested in sound doctrine or sound teaching.
Paul warned us that a time would come when people would not put up with sound teaching. Instead they’ll surround themselves with teachers who approve of their lifestyles and tell them what they want to hear because it suits their flesh. They will turn their ears away from the real truth because they prefer the sound of fables and myths (2 Timothy 4:3-4). If we are not spending time in God’s Word, we can easily be lead astray. It will be easy for us to turn our ears toward what sounds right or what makes us comfortable.
The word doctrine might sound less exciting or inviting, and something only pastors need to know. Not so. Satan loves the fact that many believers would rather hear a word that makes them feel good or comfortable about their sin or a message that doesn’t require them to do anything. After all God wants us to be comfortable and happy, full of hope for the future, right?
Doctrine is simply scriptural teaching on biblical truths. In speaking to the Corinthians, Apostle Paul was afraid that just as the serpent tricked Eve with his wiles, their hearts and minds would be tricked and they would be lead astray from the single-minded love and pure devotion to Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3).
2 Timothy 3:16 (The Voice, VOICE) says, “All of Scripture is God-breathed; in its inspired voice, we hear useful teaching, rebuke, correction, instruction, and training for a life that is right.”
I am thankful and blessed that my early teaching, correction, instruction and training were based on the pure milk of the Word, enabling me to move on to deeper truths as I learned to apply the Word to my daily life.
The word of God, is alive and full of energy; pierces more sharply than a two-edged sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts.” (Hebrews 4:12 TPT)
The Word of God sustains and keeps moving forward towards the deeper truth and revelation of Christ
The Lord’s desire is that His Church returns to righteousness, and the purity and simplicity of the Word and faith. In doing so the church will become a viable force to be reckoned with in the coming days.
Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established: believe and remain steadfast!
May God’s wonderful grace be with you all!
