And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
Do not allow this world to mold you in its own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete” (Romans 12:2 Voice).
Since taking my spiritual life more seriously I have learned that in order to experience true transformation, it’s necessary to move beyond our fears and failures, and fix our eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith daily. For for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2) just so we could experience newness of life in Him (Rom. 6:4).
He did this for the joy of knowing that you and I would be restored to a right relationship with the Father and would one day dwell with them in paradise.
This is a daily, ongoing effort to move beyond the pain of the past, guilt, shame, sorrow, struggles, and be renewed in our mind knowing we are one with Him (John 14:20; 1 Cor. 3:16; 6:17, 19).
If the body of Christ is going to impact the world for Him, then we must be transformed by renewing of our minds to His way of seeing and doing things in love. United in faith as one body by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind (Phil. 2:2).
Discipleship costs you something, but it yields a great reward!
It is my hope in these discipleship shorts to express the heart of God for the Church in these last days. And to encourage every Believer to be renewed and transformed in their understanding of God’s desire for His Church to fulfill the… and see a practical manifestation of the Kingdom on earth. When we discover Gods heart it transforms and shapes our attitude, focus and priorities more than any other.
“ So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you” (Romans 12:2 MSG)
I encourage you in these times tremendous of uncertainty to focus your faith and place your hopes in the One who is mighty to save!
