Reclaiming what the enemy tried to steal!

I’ve been having dreams that predominantly include women. Although I am not an interpreter of dreams my thoughts on this special day turn to Eve the “mother of all living”. The Bible tells us that Eve was created with Adam in the image of God. She was a woman of many firsts. The first woman, first wife, and first mother.

She was commanded with Adam to rule over the world, she was commissioned with Adam to be fruitful and multiply, and she was created from Adam to be a partner for him. As Matthew Henry so beautifully wrote: “The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.”

God, the Father desires a family. He is in the restoring business. In a world tainted by evil God’s desires is to reclaim our identity in Christ as sons and daughters, just as Adam and Eve were restored after the fall.

What can happen when God’s children live out who God made them to be, working together to do the kingdom work he has given them. A manifestation of His glory on earth!

“In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.” Hebrews 2:10-17 NIV
