“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5:24)
Justice is close to the heart of God.
God’s prophetic voice is always righteous. His voice is everything right.
From the beginning of my walk with the Lord, I was motivated by a passion to help those in need of healing and deliverance. A door was opened for me to serve those whom most would consider undesirable in today’s society. Yet, God’s plan is to set the captives free!
In these turbulent times of gross darkness we must return to God and maintain righteousness, justice and love for all. The Bible says, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you” (Psalm 89:14)
God who is perfectly just, desires justice for all of His creation. He can use our unique talents, passions, and experiences in pursuit of justice.
In Dr. Martin Luther King’s book, Strength to Love, a collection of Dr. King’s sermons, he wrote:
“The Church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state, and never its tool. If the church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority.”
