Awakening the Church: Returning to the Preaching of the Gospel (Video)

Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God (Rev. 3:2 NLT).

It is clear we live in a time of confusion and division, both in the world and in the church. In speaking to the seven churches in Asia Minor, the the Lord gives seven messages to the churches. Although these messages were challenges to these specific churches, by application they are directed toward churches throughout history Church Awakening: Warnings We Dare Not Continue To Ignore Part 1, Church Awakening: Warnings We Dare Not Continue To Ignore Part 2, Church Awakening: Warnings We Dare Not Continue To Ignore Part 3 .

We trudge along daily as if God is some abstract figure who doesn’t require anything of his people, Micah 6:8 refutes that belief. “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God?

In the midst of chaos, confusion and crumbling foundation we must consider our ways? If the foundations are being destroyed, what will the righteous do? (Haggai 1:5, Ps. 11:3)

Do we rest on our laurels? Do we turn a blind eye? Do we fall prey to the deception that has surrounded the nation with misinformation and disinformation. Or do we seek the Lord, while he may be found, call upon while he is near, forsake our way of doing church and return to God’s way of building his church?

“Seek the Lord while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near.
Let the wicked abandon his way,
And the unrighteous person his thoughts;
And let him return to the Lord,
And He will have compassion on him,
And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:6-7),

In many ways the church has turned a blind eye by to the truth of the gospel. When I watch or listen to some church services online, or attend in person, I hear so little of the Word of God being used in the messaging.  Whatever happened to the preaching of the gospel?

Foundations are crumbling … kingdoms are shaking … what will the righteous do?
