Make Every Day Count: Where Is God When Life Falls Apart?

Simple Wisdom for Living Fully, Even in Hard Times

Life doesn’t always go as planned. Sometimes, it feels like everything is falling apart—whether it’s trouble in our families, tough news on TV, problems at work or school, or just feeling uncertain about what comes next. In moments like these, it’s normal to wonder, “Where is God? Does He care? What am I supposed to do now?”

Let’s talk about what the Bible says in plain, everyday language and how you can grab hold of hope and purpose, no matter what you’re facing.

Time Is Precious—Don’t Waste It

Every single day is a gift, even when it doesn’t feel like one. In Ephesians 5:16-17, the Bible says, “Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” In simple terms: life is short, and none of us knows how much time we have. So, instead of just going through the motions, we’re encouraged to live with purpose and intention—especially when times are hard.

Where Is God When Life Gets Tough?

It’s easy to feel alone when things go wrong, but the Bible reminds us that God never leaves us. He’s still there, even when we can’t see or feel Him. Sometimes, hard times help us see what really matters. They can remind us to slow down, reach out for help, or see the good around us—even if it’s just a small moment of kindness or a quiet morning.

Like a close friend who sits quietly beside you when you’re upset, God can be present in the little things: a comforting word from someone, a beautiful sunrise, or the strength you didn’t know you had to keep going.

Making the Most of Every Day

So, how do you “make every day count” when you’re struggling? Here’s some simple wisdom anyone can try:

·      Focus on what you can control: You may not be able to fix everything, but you can choose your attitude, your actions, and how you treat those around you.

·      Look for the little blessings: Even on the hardest days, there’s usually something to be thankful for—a delicious meal, a smile from a stranger, a funny moment with a pet.

·      Stay connected: Reach out to friends, family, or a faith community. You’re not meant to handle life alone.

·      Ask for help: It’s okay to admit you’re struggling. God uses other people to support us, and sometimes, just talking to someone makes a world of difference.

·      Don’t forget to pray: You don’t need fancy words. Just talk to God honestly. Ask for help, for strength, for hope, or just tell Him how you feel.

Understanding God’s Purpose

Hard times don’t mean God has forgotten us. Instead, the Bible teaches that we can learn and grow—even in pain. God might not remove every problem, but He promises to walk with us through it. When we trust that there’s purpose—even when we don’t see it—we can find the courage to keep going.

Living Fully, One Day at a Time

Don’t let fear or sadness steal your days. Take things one step at a time. Do your best with what you have today. Celebrate small wins. Rest when you need to. And remember, God’s love doesn’t depend on your circumstances—it’s always there.

In the end, “making every day count” isn’t about being perfect or having all the answers. It’s about showing up, loving others, and trusting that, even in the mess, God is working for your good.

So, even if life feels overwhelming, don’t give up. You matter. Your days matter. And God is still with you—helping you make every moment count.
