Awakening: Seeing With Spiritual Eyes

A Simple Explanation for All Who Are Curious or Seeking

Have you ever felt like there’s more going on in life than what you can see or understand? The message of Awakening 12-8 is all about opening our “spiritual eyes” to see what God is doing, even when things seem uncertain or confusing in the world around us.

The Heart of the Message

At the core, it’s about humility and grace. The Bible says, “God is opposed to the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6). That means God is looking for people who are open, teachable, and willing to listen for His guidance.

Why Does This Matter?

When life gets tough or the future feels uncertain, the truths in God’s Word can mean everything. Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years or you’re just curious about Christianity, you’re invited to take a closer look—you don’t have to have it all figured out.

Seeing Beyond the Obvious

The writer shares a personal story: after reflecting on these spiritual messages, they felt God calling them to “come up higher,” not through a loud voice, but deep in their heart. This was about seeing things from God’s perspective, not just their own. The Holy Spirit—God’s presence within us—helps us see and understand things we couldn’t on our own.

Why Spiritual Vision Is Important

According to the Bible, sometimes we need to “readjust our focus.” That means not getting overwhelmed by what’s happening around us, but asking God to help us see things His way. It’s a bit like cleaning your glasses or adjusting binoculars so that you can see clearly.

Paul, one of the early Christian leaders, even prayed for believers to have open eyes and minds, so they could truly understand God’s hope and power (see Ephesians 1:17-19).

God Still Speaks

Throughout history, God has spoken to people in different ways—through dreams, visions, and even a burning bush (like with Moses). The main goal is always the same: to draw us closer to Him and help us discover His plans for our lives.

Knowledge and Wisdom Matter

The Bible warns that people can suffer when they don’t seek wisdom and understanding (see Proverbs 2:6 and Hosea 4:6). In other words, we need to keep learning and listening to God, so we can make wise decisions, especially in challenging times.

The Battle for Our Thoughts

Sometimes, negative influences try to keep us from seeing God’s truth. The writer encourages us to fight to keep our hearts and minds pure, so we don’t lose sight of what God wants to show us.

What Does Awakening Look Like?

A spiritual awakening happens when God’s Spirit becomes active and real in our lives, communities, churches, and even nations. It’s not just about feeling good—it’s about real change and new understanding.

Final Thoughts

If you’re hoping for change—in your life, your family, your city, or the world—this message encourages you to keep seeking God, listening for His voice, and being open to what He wants to show you. Sometimes, powerful change starts with a “shaking” of the old ways, so something new can begin (see Hebrews 12:26).

No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you’re invited to look beyond the surface and ask God to help you see with new eyes. That’s what Awakening 12-8 is all about.

May God bless you as you seek, learn, and grow.
