Finding Strength in Quiet Moments

How Quiet Moments Bring Lasting Comfort and Strength

The early morning is a unique time. As the sun rises and everything is still, I find it’s the perfect moment to pause and meditate. In these peaceful hours, when the world’s worries and even bigger challenges—like what’s happening in our nation—can feel overwhelming, I’m comforted by something deeper. I think of it as “drinking from the well that never runs dry.”

What Is “The Well That Never Runs Dry”?

This phrase is really just a simple way of saying there’s an endless source of what we need most—hope, strength, creativity, or kindness. In everyday life, it can mean different things, but in a spiritual sense, it’s about turning to God. Many people believe God is an unfailing source of peace and joy, always ready to refresh our spirits no matter what’s going on around us. When life feels tough or uncertain, this well is always full, ready to comfort and renew us.

How God Gives Us Strength

Drinking from this “well” is like drawing on a never-ending supply of spiritual strength. The Bible talks about this in verses like Isaiah 58:11, which promises that God will guide you, meet your needs even in hard times, and keep you strong—like a garden that’s always watered or a spring that never stops flowing. It means that even when life gets dry or difficult, there’s a source of real refreshment and renewal.

Jesus also spoke about “living water” (John 4:14), offering a kind of spiritual satisfaction that never runs out. When we trust in God, we get an inner spring of hope and joy that keeps growing. It’s not just a quick fix; it’s a deep well that renews us from the inside, no matter what is happening outside.

So when things get challenging—personally or nationally—those quiet moments of early morning meditation remind me that I can always drink from this well. And that brings comfort and strength that lasts all day.
