Understanding God’s Heart for Humanity
The God of Israel is not limited to one group of people. He is the Creator and Lord of all nations and cares deeply for every human being. God is a God of justice, righteousness, grace, and mercy, but He also upholds order and righteousness. His concern is not just for nations, but also for the people He has chosen to represent Him. This includes holding them accountable when they fall short of His standards.
God’s Nature and His Promise
God doesn’t focus on race or nationality. Instead, He sees humanity through the lens of the covenant established by Christ’s sacrifice. In Acts 17:24-28, the Bible reminds us that God made the world and everything in it, giving life to all people equally. From one person, He created all nations, setting their place in history so they might seek and find Him. God is near to everyone and sustains all life.
The Church’s Role
The church must uphold God’s principles by being a voice of truth and righteousness, especially in times of crisis. Leadership, whether political or spiritual, is accountable to God to ensure justice, peace, and order in society. Yet, pride and divisive actions often lead to destruction. As Galatians 6:7 states, “Whatever a person sows, they will reap.” The church must confront hard truths, particularly when it comes to issues like racism, which is a stain on humanity and an insult to God’s design that all people are created in His image (Genesis 1:27).
Race and Unity
God does not make distinctions based on race or color. In Galatians 3:28, Apostle Paul emphasizes that all are one in Christ—no one is superior based on ethnicity, gender, or social status. Everyone equally needs the grace of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit to become whole. The Gospel is meant for all, and its blessings are shared by all who believe.
A Call to Action
The church must speak out against racism and injustice, even when it means challenging authority. Silence on such issues allows division and moral failings to persist. Change must happen because America, like ancient Israel, has reached a tipping point. Racism and other injustices are affronts to God’s Word and must be addressed immediately. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “The time is always right to do what is right.”
Living Out God’s Love
We all have a role to play in making things right—by treating people with dignity, courtesy, and respect. The Bible calls us to bear witness to God’s love for humanity and work toward unity and justice. Whether through small acts of kindness or bigger initiatives, these efforts align with God’s heart for righteousness.
May we seek God’s peace, which transcends understanding, and allow it to guard our hearts and minds. Together, we can reflect His love and bring healing to our communities.
