Over the past several years, certain truths have stirred deeply in my spirit, reminding me of what truly matters in both our faith and in how we view the world. These reflections center on righteousness, justice, and the importance of preaching the gospel with clarity and conviction.

Righteousness and Justice: What Do They Mean for Us?

At the heart of God’s character are righteousness and justice. These aren’t just abstract concepts—they are the foundation of His throne and how we are called to live and treat one another. Righteousness calls us to align ourselves with God’s standard of holiness, while justice pushes us to take action in the face of wrongs, ensuring fairness and equity for all. In a world filled with division and strife, these virtues remind us of God’s perfect example and challenge us to reflect His character in our daily lives.

The Gospel: A Message Too Precious to Lose

But what has happened to the preaching of the gospel? In a time when so many distractions vie for our attention, the simplicity and beauty of the gospel message can sometimes get lost. Yet, it is this message that holds the power to transform hearts and bring us into right relationship with God. It is a message of hope, redemption, and love—one that the world needs now more than ever.

Truth Revealed Through God’s Word

The Bible isn’t just a collection of ancient texts; it is God’s revelation to us about the world, ourselves, and Him. As Francis Schaeffer once wrote in *He Is Here And He Is Not Silent*, “God has revealed to us the truth about the world in which we live, the truth about our human existence and the truth about himself.” This truth resonates deeply because it aligns with the reality we experience. God’s Word is not out of touch; it speaks directly to the questions and struggles we face today.

A Powerful Reminder

Psalm 62:11 beautifully captures the essence of God’s sovereignty: “One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: ‘Power belongs to you, God.’” This verse is a powerful reminder that no matter what challenges we face, God holds ultimate authority. His power is not only immense but also deeply personal, working for the good of those who love Him.

Moving Forward

As we reflect on these themes, let’s not lose sight of what truly matters. Righteousness and justice should guide our actions. The gospel must remain central to our lives and our message to others. And through it all, we must hold firm to the truth revealed in God’s Word, knowing that His power sustains us.

May these reflections encourage us to live with purpose and faith, trusting in the One who is both righteous and just, and who lovingly calls us to Himself.
