Paul’s Gifts and Calling
Paul had a brilliant mind and natural talents. Even before he became a follower of Jesus, people knew him for his intelligence and passion. When Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus, everything changed. The Holy Spirit took Paul’s gifts and used them in incredible ways. He became a powerful preacher, sharing the good news about Jesus everywhere he went. His letters, which make up a large part of the New Testament, are still read and loved today for their wisdom and encouragement.
But Paul never claimed these gifts as his own. He was always careful to say that his abilities and his ministry were possible only because of God’s grace. He didn’t brag about what he could do—instead, he wanted everyone to see that Christ was the true reason for his strength and success.
