Don’t Throw Away Your Confidence: A Simple Devotional on Faith and Perseverance

Key Scripture: “Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” — Hebrews 10:35

Devotional Thought

Staying encouraged and steady in everyday life is not always easy. Some days we feel strong in our faith. Other days, life feels busy, heavy, or uncertain. We may start out excited about walking with God, but then stress, problems, disappointments, and daily responsibilities can make that confidence feel weak.

That is why Hebrews 10:35 reminds us, “Do not throw away your confidence.” In simple words, don’t give up your trust in God. Don’t let trouble, delay, fear, or discouragement cause you to walk away from the hope He has given you.

Spiritual confidence does not mean we never feel tired or unsure. It means we keep coming back to God, even when life is hard. It means we trust His presence, His promises, and His timing.

Faith is not just about starting well; it is about continuing with God day by day. The Christian life takes perseverance. That means we keep going, even when we are under pressure. We keep praying. We keep believing. We keep doing what is right, even when we do not see the full reward yet.

One way to stay encouraged is to remember what God has already done. Hebrews 10:32 says to remember the former days. Looking back at God’s faithfulness can give us strength for today. If He helped us before, He can help us again.

Remembering the past does not mean living stuck in the past. Philippians 3:13 teaches us not to let past failures hold us back. We can learn from yesterday without being chained to it. God can use both our victories and our struggles to make our faith stronger.

We also need encouragement from other believers. God did not design us to walk this journey alone. Sometimes a kind word, a prayer, or a reminder of Scripture can help us keep going when we feel weak.

So today, don’t throw away your confidence. Stay close to God. Keep feeding your faith through prayer, Scripture, worship, and obedience. Remember His goodness. Trust His promises. Let your trials strengthen you instead of stop you.

God is with you in the easy days and the hard days. Keep the fire of your faith burning. Keep walking by faith. Keep believing that the reward God promised is worth the wait.

Prayer

Lord, help me not to throw away my confidence in You. When life feels heavy, remind me that You are still near. Strengthen my faith when I feel weak, and help me remember the times You have already carried me through. Teach me to trust Your promises, obey Your will, and keep walking with You one day at a time. Amen.

Reflection Question

What is one situation where you need to hold on to your confidence in God instead of giving in to fear, discouragement, or impatience?
