When we talk about the attributes of deity, we are talking about the qualities that belong to God alone. The God of the Bible is not like anyone else. He is set apart from all creation and stands alone as the one and only true God.
God alone is omnipotent, which means He has all power. Nothing is too hard for Him. He is omniscient, which means He knows everything—past, present, and future. He is omnipresent, which means He is present everywhere at the same time. God is sovereign, meaning He rules over all things and nothing happens outside of His authority. He is the giver of life, and He is also the one who has power over life and death. He is infinite and eternal, with no beginning and no end. He is full of wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth. Everything good and right finds its source in Him.
The God of the Bible is the one and only true God. He alone deserves our worship, our trust, and our obedience. We should always acknowledge Him for who He truly is—almighty, holy, righteous, and forever worthy of all honor and praise. He alone is worthy of our praise! (Deut. 10:21)
Prayer Call
Lord Jesus, we come before you this day to ask you for an accurate interpretation of the scriptures. We ask that you can be our teacher as we search your word for understanding. Enlighten us to the knowledge of your will. Show us how these very scriptures are relevant to our lives. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
