Scripture: Psalm 68:6 — “God sets the lonely in families…”
Psalm 68:6 says, “God sets the lonely in families.” What a tender reminder of God’s heart. He sees those who feel alone, forgotten, or out of place, and He lovingly draws them into belonging.
From the beginning, God knew it was not good for us to be alone. He created us for relationship—with Him and with one another. Sometimes He blesses us through our biological family, and other times through friends, church family, or people He places in our path for a season.
This verse also reminds us that family is bigger than blood. In Christ, we are welcomed into the household of faith—a place where we can be prayed for, encouraged, and reminded that we are never truly alone.
The rest of the verse points to God’s power to bring freedom and joy. He does not overlook the hurting. He draws near to the burdened and provides hope, healing, and peace in ways only He can.
If you have been feeling lonely or unseen, take comfort today: God knows exactly where you are. He is able to provide the love, connection, and support your heart needs.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for being near to the lonely and for placing us in families and communities where we can be loved and supported. Help us to trust Your care and to be a source of comfort and welcome to others. Amen.
