The God we serve is not made by human hands (Acts 17:24). He is not a statue, an idea, or a story people invented. He is the one true and living God. He was here before anything else existed, and everything we see was made by Him.
He put the stars in the sky and filled the sea with fish. He made the birds that fly above us and the animals that walk the earth. He made the trees, the flowers, the grass, and every living thing. Nothing was too big for Him to create, and nothing was too small for Him to care about.
After God prepared the earth, He made the first man and woman. He did not make them because He was lonely or because He needed help. He made them because He wanted to love them and have a relationship with them. He placed them in a beautiful garden where life was peaceful, safe, and good.
In that garden, there was no sickness, fear, shame, or pain. There were no demons tormenting people. Adam and Eve did not have to hide from God. They walked with Him, talked with Him, and enjoyed His presence. Life was the way God meant it to be.
But God Had an Enemy
But God had an enemy. His names include Satan, Lucifer, and the devil. Lucifer was once a beautiful angel, but pride filled his heart. He wanted to be greater than God. He wanted the worship that belonged only to God. Because he rebelled, God cast him out of heaven.
When Satan saw the man and woman God had made in His own image, he hated them. He hated what God loved. He wanted to break the beautiful relationship they had with their Creator. So he came to them with lies and tricked them into doing the one thing God had told them not to do.
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, sin entered the world. Their choice broke something deep. They had been created to live close to God and rule the earth under His authority, but by listening to the devil instead of God, they opened the door to pain, sickness, fear, and spiritual darkness.
That is why the world is not the way it should be. We see sickness, death, evil, and suffering because sin damaged what God made good. The devil came to steal, kill, and destroy, and every generation has felt the effects of that first rebellion.
God Did Not Give Up on Us
But here is the good news: God did not stop loving people. He did not throw humanity away. On the very day sin entered the world, God made a promise. He promised that one day He would send His Son to defeat the works of the devil and set people free.
That promise was fulfilled when God sent Jesus into the world. Jesus came to rescue us from sin, darkness, and the power of the enemy. He came because God still wanted a relationship with us. He came so we could be forgiven, restored, and brought back into the family of God.
This is the heart of the story: God created us, sin separated us, but Jesus came to save us. The God we serve is alive, powerful, merciful, and faithful. He is not distant. He still calls people back to Himself today.
If you have felt far from God, know this: He has not stopped loving you. The same God who made the stars also sees your heart. The same God who created the earth also made a way for you to come home. That way is Jesus.
Receive Him. Trust Him. Turn from sin and let Him lead your life. The one true and living God is still reaching for His creation, still offering mercy, and still setting people free.
