When we look at the world today, it can feel confusing, chaotic, and heavy. There is violence, fear, broken leadership, wars, division, uncertainty, and so much sin around us. Many people are afraid of what may happen next. Even in the church, many are troubled. Some people reject Christ, some churches are losing their way, and some wonder if God sees what is happening or if He is still in control.
But the Bible gives us a clear answer: God is still on the throne.
Psalm 103:19 says, “The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.” That means God does not only rule in heaven; He rules over everything on earth too. Nothing happens outside His knowledge, power, or authority. The world may look out of control to us, but it is not out of God’s control.
Psalm 115:3 says, “Our God is in heaven; He does whatever pleases Him.” God is not weak, confused, absent, or surprised by what is happening. He is sovereign. That means He has the final authority. People may make choices, leaders may rise and fall, and evil may seem strong for a season, but God’s plan will not fail.
Sometimes it may look like the devil is more active than God. But that depends on whether we are walking by sight or walking by faith. If we only judge by what we see, the world can look dark and hopeless. But faith teaches us to see life through God’s Word.
Second Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” Walking by faith means trusting God even when we cannot see or understand everything. It means we do not build our hope on what we feel, what we fear, or what the news says. We build our hope on what God has said.
Walking by faith means praying when we are afraid. It means trusting God when money is tight. It means forgiving when someone hurts us. It means believing God is still in control when the world looks chaotic. It means continuing to trust His timing when prayers are not answered quickly.
Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” If we want to understand what is happening in the world, we must go back to Scripture. God’s Word is the light that helps us see clearly when everything around us feels dark.
God is holy, so He does not ignore sin. God is righteous, so He cares about justice. God is faithful, so His Word will come to pass. God is all-powerful, so no one can stop His plan. God is wise, so no problem is too hard for Him.
The world may be in crisis, but God is not in crisis. He is not panicking. He is not confused. He is not watching helplessly from a distance. He is the Creator, the King of kings, and the ruler over all things.
Romans 8:28 reminds us that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. That does not mean everything that happens is good. It means God is powerful enough to work even through hard, painful, and confusing things for His purpose.
So when the world looks out of control, believers do not have to live in fear. We can stay faithful. We can trust God’s Word. We can pray. We can encourage one another. We can remember that God is still ruling, even when we do not understand what He is doing.
The main point is this: God is not a distant spectator watching the world fall apart. He is sovereign over all things. His plan cannot be defeated.
That is the language of faith—not the language of fear, feelings, or natural sight.
