Sometimes we think our relationship with Jesus depends mostly on how strong we are, how well we pray, or how hard we try. But the Bible gives us a better starting point. It says that we are in Christ because of God. In simple words, God Himself joined us to Jesus.
God Put You in Christ
Paul told the believers, “Of God are ye in Christ Jesus.” That means our place in Christ is not something we created by ourselves. Yes, we believe. Yes, we turn to Jesus. Yes, we pray and follow Him. But behind all of that, God was already working in our hearts.
Think about a child being adopted into a family. The child receives the love and care of the new home, but the adoption did not happen because the child arranged every detail. Someone with love and authority made the way. In the same way, God made the way for us to belong to Christ.
This should give us peace. Our salvation is not resting on our feelings. Some days we feel strong, and some days we feel weak. Some days we feel close to God, and some days we feel dry. But our place in Christ is not held together by our moods. God Himself has joined us to Jesus.
That does not make us careless. It makes us thankful. When we understand that God brought us to Christ, we stop bragging and start worshiping. We can say, “Lord, You did this. You loved me. You drew me. You brought me into Your Son.”
God Will Care for What He Has Joined to Christ
Jesus said, “My Father is the husbandman.” A husbandman is like a gardener or farmer. He cares for the vine and the branches. He watches over them, feeds them, trims them, and helps them bear fruit. This means God does not join us to Christ and then leave us alone.
Think about someone planting a young tree. After planting it, they do not walk away and forget it. They water it, protect it, and make sure it has what it needs to grow. God is even more faithful than that. If He has planted us in Christ, He will also care for our growth.
This helps us when we feel weak. We may look at ourselves and say, “I am not strong enough. I fail too much. I do not know how to live this life.” But God is not asking us to grow by ourselves. He works in us. He teaches us, corrects us, strengthens us, and helps us bear fruit.
Our part is to stay surrendered and close to Jesus. We keep trusting Him. We keep praying. We keep listening to His Word. We keep letting God shape us. The same God who put us in Christ is the God who helps us remain in Christ.
Closing Reflection
Take comfort in this truth: your life in Christ began with God. You are not holding yourself together by your own power. God Himself has united you to Jesus, and He is faithful to care for what He has begun.
Today, you can pray, “Father, thank You for placing me in Christ. Help me stop trusting in my own strength. Teach me to rest in what You have done, stay close to Jesus, and bear fruit for Your glory.”
