Scripture: “But the wisdom that comes from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, and sincere.” — James 3:17
Reflection: Wisdom from God is not just about knowing the right thing to say. It is about living the right way. James teaches us that heavenly wisdom starts with purity. That means our motives matter. Before we ask God what to do, we should ask Him to search our hearts.
God’s wisdom does not push people away with pride, harsh words, or selfish ambition. It is peaceable, gentle, and willing to listen. It does not mean we compromise truth, but it does mean we carry truth with humility, mercy, and love.
Many times, we think wisdom is proven by how much we know. But God’s wisdom is proven by the fruit of our lives. Are we merciful? Are we fair? Are we sincere? Are we making peace, or are we adding to confusion? True wisdom produces righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Application: Today, ask God to show you where you need His wisdom. Before you respond to a difficult person, make a big decision, or join a hard conversation, pause and ask: Is my heart pure? Is my response peaceable? Am I being gentle? Am I showing mercy? Am I being sincere?
Prayer: Lord, give me wisdom from above. Purify my heart and remove every selfish motive. Help me to be peaceable, gentle, teachable, merciful, fair, and sincere. Let my words and actions bring peace instead of confusion. Teach me to live in a way that reflects Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Daily Declaration: Today, I will seek the wisdom that comes from above. I will choose purity over pride, peace over conflict, mercy over judgment, and sincerity over appearance.
