There has been much controversy and concern over Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement. I was reading an article written in CBN News, “LET’S PRAY FOR THE PRESIDENT”: FRANKLIN GRAHAM, OTHER FAITH LEADERS URGE WISDOM AS SEARCH BEGINS FOR NEW SUPREME COURT JUDGE by Mark Martin : Jun 28, 2018. Evangelist Franklin Graham is urging Christians to pray, “Let’s pray for the president, that he will select a justice who fears God, who will uphold the Constitution, and who will defend the liberties of all Americans,” Many other faith leaders are doing the same. We not only need justices that will uphold the Constitution, but will uphold God’s Law.
As I read the article, I heard in my spirit, “And justice for all, even the unborn.” As our nation finds itself in a highly divisive season, I also encourage you to pray that the President will select a justice who fears and reverence’s God, and will stand for righteousness. Regardless of what your thoughts and feeling may be regarding the President, we are commanded to lift up petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness (I Peter2:17). Ask for God’s wisdom and righteousness to be evident in our nation’s policies and leaders. Let’s hold our leaders accountable while praying for their wisdom and well-being. Let’s stand in the gap for our nation (Ezekiel 22:30)!
Blessings,
