The Roaring Lion

The Roaring Lion

Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you. Be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour.                        1 Peter 5:7-8 (TPT)

How does the enemy devoured us? Any way he can. Satan is a deceiver. I have noticed that if I am not casting all my cares and anxiety on God and leaving them there, I am in danger of being devoured.  I become prey for the enemy.

There are times when God allows trials, and at the same time, the enemy comes in like a raging flood, condemning and accusing and trying to push us down and under, and to cause us to be overcome and overwhelmed by our circumstances.

Enemy-Comes-In-Like-A-Flood_2When the enemy comes in like a flood, attacking your family, your finances, and your health, you are very much in danger of being devoured. During these times I pray and the Lord says, “Trust me.” If we place our trust in the Lord He will cause us to triumph. He is our Deliverer.

We need to be watchful of the enemy’s tactic.  Be alert for thoughts that will flood your mind and crowd out the peace of God in your mind and heart. Let your heart  always be guided by the peace. And always be thankful.  Let the word of Christ live in you richly, flooding you with God’s wisdom.  Give your cares over to God instead of trying to carry them yourself.

1 Peter 5:9-10 spurs us on to resist the enemy,  firm in our faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by others in the family of faith. When we choose to trust God with our anxieties, He will empower and strengthen us.  He will be our strength,  He will go before us and be our rear guard. He promises to restore.

So let’s choose to trust Him. Give the hard things to Him, as well as all the unknown’s of the future.  when we choose to trust Him we are to walk in His plans and purposes for our life. And we are choosing not to be devoured by the enemy.

May we fix our eyes on Jesus, and cast all of our cares on Him because He cares for us.
