Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! (Romans 5:9)
Wrath, Righteousness and Justification
A holy God, a good God, cannot be true to himself and tolerate the presence of evil in his creation forever. God hates sin and it’s consequences and the oppression it brings upon his people hindering them from living a fruitful and purposeful life. Human beings have chosen to reject God’s sovereignty, refused his love, ignored his goodness, despised his justice and mocked his mercy (Romans 1:17-19).
God created a perfect world, but human beings have marred it through sin. What I love about God is that inspite of man’s sinfulness, he continues to pursue his prize possessions because of his great love for mankind.
God’s wrath is just as real as His mercy, love, and forgiveness is, but the wrath of God has been placed on His Son for all who have repented (turned away from and forsaken their sins) and then trusted in Christ (Romans 5:9).
Our faith in Jesus Christ transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us blameless in his eyes. We can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God because of what Jesus has done for us. He has liberated us from the guilt, punishment, and power of sin! Isn’t this good news! (Romans 3:21-23 TPT)
God’s wonderful declaration that we are righteous in his eyes can only come when we put our faith in Christ, and not in keeping the law or doing good works.
Abraham and David set the example for us. The Bible says m, because Abraham believed God’s words, his faith transferred God’s righteousness into his account (Romans 4:3 TPT).
David said, “What happy fulfillment is ahead for those whose rebellion has been forgiven and whose sins are covered by blood (Romans 4:8 TPT).
Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. Patient endurance refines our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. This hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God flowing into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!
We can remain steadfast under trials and have peace knowing that the Lord is working things out on our behalf.
God is equally the God for all of humanity? He’s the God of all people! There is only one God and he treats us all the same. The world is passing away along with everything that people crave in the flesh. Many societies are corrupt and immoral because of a lack of hearing the gospel message and understanding revealed truth. God’s Word says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Yahweh will be rescued and experience new life.” ”But how can people call on him for help if they’ve not yet believed? And how can they believe in one they’ve not yet heard of? And how can they hear the message of life if there is no one there to proclaim it? And how can the message be proclaimed if messengers have yet to be sent? (Romans 10:13-15 TPT)
The truth is the gospel message has been watered-down to make it more palatable. God loves his creation. He wishes that none should perish. As believers, we must share this “good news” with others in a spirit of love. We have been given the gift of grace because of God’s unfailing love. We don’t deserve it and could never earn it!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Blessings,
Dr. Francine
