The nation is in trouble. Don’t allow divisiveness and a difference of opinion cause us not to pray fervently for our leaders. God is a God or order and a God of justice, a God of grace and a God of mercy. Our governing authorities are God’s servants (Romans 13:3-5).
Pray for God’s people to turn back to him. II Chronicles 7:14 says: “… if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Pray for our leaders on the federal, state and local level. II Timothy 2-1-2 says, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
Psalm 75:6-7 says, “For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.”
Pray that our leaders will work together in unity for the good of the nation and reopen the government. Proverbs 12:14 says, “For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.”
