Living Purposefully: Running The Race!

Embracing God’s purpose for your life is not to be taken lightly. Carefully and wisely take advantage of every opportunity God gives you to understand His will. Ephesians 5

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” )Proverbs 3:5-6)

These words have been constant in my life. They are some of the most comforting words in the Bible because they tell me I am not alone in figuring out God’s will and purpose for my life.

These words bolster us as we are running the race God has set before us with perseverance; fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Let’s consider  Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that we will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:1-3).

God’s Word brings light and clarity to our journey of faith. Trusting God on this path, rather than our own limited understanding will allow Him to make our paths straight.

God is saying, “If you will trust me, I will light your path along the journey and make it easier to follow.” Our Creator sees the entire road ahead from beginning to end. He can go before you, removing any obstacle clearing your path. God’s Word is an indispensable light.

The Bible along with the Holy Spirit instructs us on how to come to decisions that are acceptable and well pleasing to God. We learn from the Scriptures the parameters that guide us in making decisions that are both moral and wise. But to be useful, we must be willing to apply them.

As I seek God’s direction, allowing His Word to illuminate my path He will open and close doors. If I’m not paying attention or stuck in my own understanding, I will miss the doors He opens for me.

We must be willing and obedient to follow the path wherever God leads. Just like Abraham set out on a journey not knowing where he was going, obeyingbGod, we must also trust and obey God’s leading.

Blessings,

Dr. Francine
