“He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.” (Psalm 107:20)
I was meditating on 1 Kings 17:21, 24 about the widow’s son had fallen ill. She called on the prophet Elijah who was staying with them during the drought. Elijah took the boy to his room, stretched himself out on the boy three times and said “Lord my God, let this boy’s life return to him!” The boy was miraculously healed. Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord is the truth.”
Many of you or a loved one may be going through a season of illness or emotional pain. In times of spiritual, emotional or physical pain, we can rely on God’s Word to comfort our souls and guide us towards healing.
The wisdom of King Solomon in Proverbs 4 instructs us to pay attention and turn our ear to the Word. Never let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body (Proverbs 4:20-22).
The late author Derek Prince encouraged taking God’s Word as medicine three times a day just as you would have regular meals. He used the diagnosis of a doctor (as a guide) to help him gain an understanding of where to focus his prayer. Prince says, “When you see, think, feel and speak ONLY what God says and feels about you, His healing and miracle-working power is released within you.”
God desires to heal His people. He is the Lord that heals (Exodus 15:26 NLT). We can experience the power of God’s Word to heal. We can rely on God’s power, to not only heal our emotional pain but for physical healing as well.
Position yourself to receive God’s provision and power for healing.
* Release unforgiveness and bitterness
* Build faith through reading and confesses His Word
* Pray believing that God Word will heals
The Lord hears your prayers and He comes with healing in His wings. My prayer is that you or your loved one will experience the miraculous healing power of our Lord, Jesus Christ!
“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture” (Malachi 4:2 ).
