What’s lacking in many churches today is the prophetic word. Prophecy builds up the church… the people of God. It speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort, and edifies the church. It should change/purify your heart. It changes your life and is a heritage for believers given to us by God.
It’s about believing what has been spoken!
What is said should be weighed carefully. We must judge prophecy regardless of who is speaking. No one is infallible. I believe this is why it says in 1 Corinthians 14:29 to “let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment.” We must be able to discern that which is from the Lord, and disregard the rest.
“Do not treat prophecies with contempt; but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5:20-22
As an emerging prophetic voice, I hope to share with you what I sense God is doing in these perilous times we live in.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
Notice the Scriptures didn’t say who these people will be. They could a politician or government official, a false prophet, a pastor or church leader, a family member or co-worker. The reality is that we need to discern what’s taking place around us and properly align ourselves with people of like faith.
Together you can make a godly impact on society in whatever sphere of influence God has assigned you. We have been given an open door of opportunity to impact the world for Christ.
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” Isaiah 9:2; Matthew 4:16
We are that light!
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
“Titles is not what the world needs today. The world today needs ministry. The world today needs us to bear fruit of what we are.” —Lester Summerall
The world is watching and waiting. Let’s honor God by fulfilling His purposes here on earth before the return of Christ. There is a great harvest of souls watching and waiting for the people of God to arise and take their place in God’s Kingdom.
