Hearing God’s Voice – Pt. 2

voice

The Word of God paramount to navigating through our daily lives. Scripture says that “man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” (Deut. 8:3; Matt. 4:4)

God’s voice is both loving and instructive to His children.  “I know the plans I have
for you, declares the Lord, to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jer. 29:11

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph. 2:10

I experienced this personally when I felt the call to full-time ministry in 1995. It wasn’t a loud voice calling me to leave the comforts of a well paying job, but the still small voice speaking to my heart when an opportunity presented itself to make the transition that emanated from the day I said “YES, if you need someone I’ll go for you!

My life has never been the same. I can recall it so vividly as I was headed to work one day.  After spending time with the Lord in His Word that morning before heading to work, my heart was overwhelmed by His presence. I felt a flood of His love and grace calling me into a deeper intimacy with Him. His undying passion and desire to bring healing and deliverance to humanity.

The story of the prophet Isaiah’s commissioning and prophetic encounter with the Lord, seeing Him “high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple,”  so impacted my pursuit of Him and my desire to be a part of what He was doing in the lives of others here on earth.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8

Author Shawn Boltz in his latest book Through The Eyes Of Love says:

“Encounters with God help us
get in touch with our God-given identity, and our lives naturally
change directions as a result. And sometimes when we are simply
walking with God through regular seasons of life, we sense that
following His plan means making a massive life change.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself. His ways are higher than ours. Walking with Him and listening to His voice has been an adventure. He is ever-present in our lives. He loves His children enough to be intimately involved in their marriages and families, finances, and their life direction.

I believe in agreement with others that days will unfold when signs and wonders will increase in the Body of Christ, and the world will witness the greatest move of God since the birth of the Church at Pentecost as recorded in Joel 2:28-29 and Acts 2:17-18.

“And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
