The Gospel of Accommodation
“ But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!” Galatians 1:8-9
Whether people want to hear it or not, the Lord always sends forth watchmen to earn. He never does anything until after He warns.
Accommodation means to adapt. The the act or process of adapting. Suitable or acceptable. To yield to the desires of others to placate them.
For several years I’ve been writing about the massive deception that has been sweeping the church, and that the church is fast asleep. (afrancinegreen.com). I’ve been writing about the church’s need to awaken from its slumber. Now is the time for the church to press in beyond what is comfortable and desire to see the fullness of God’s presence in our lives and church services.
Pastor David Wilkerson gave a powerful prophetic message in 1998 titled “THE DANGERS OF THE GOSPEL OF ACCOMMODATION”
The gospel of accommodation is creeping into the United States. It’s an American cultural invention to appease the lifestyle of luxury and pleasure. Primarily a Caucasian, suburban gospel, it’s also in our major cities and is sweeping the nation, influencing ministers of every denomination, and giving birth to megachurches with thousands who come to hear a nonconfronting message. It’s an adaptable gospel that is spoon-fed through humorous skits, drama, and short, nonabrasive sermonettes on how to cope—called a seeker-friendly or sinner-friendly gospel.
To begin with, those terms are unscriptural. The gospel of Jesus Christ has always been confronting—there is no such thing as a friendly gospel but a friendly grace.
“This new gospel is being propagated by bright, young, talented ministers. They have come upon a formula which states you can go into any town or city; and if you have the right formula, within a short time you can raise a megachurch.
David Wilkerson
A gospel that has been invented in hell, that is now being propagated. A hard message, but one the church needs to hear:
That was twenty one years ago. Fast forward to today. God is still warning the church. A year ago, Jeremiah Johnson shared a prophetic warning in Charisma Magazine “Prophetic Alert: Spiritual Warfare Intensifying in America in This Hour.”
The gospel of accommodation, seeks to overtake the American Church. It encourages American Christians to fit Jesus into their life rather than making Him their life. “This false gospel requires no sacrifice, no commitment and no death to self. It is dangerous, deceptive and we are going to witness God beginning to highlight preachers and churches who preach this false gospel of accommodation.
Jeremiah Johnson
God has always been faithful to warn the church of things to come. We would do well to heed these warnings. The the is short!
No Other Gospel
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! Galatians 1:6-9
The time is now!
