I love it when God gives me a confirming word. At the beginning of the year I sensed that this would be a year that many people should purposefully seek to discover their life purpose by living an intentional life. God has given each and every one of us purpose. As we choose to live each day with intention we will begin to sense the Lord revealing Himself and His purpose for our lives.
Many prophetic voices are talking about destiny in this new decade. This morning I was reading a Prophetic Word for 2020: Your Life Purpose Is Being Revealed” by Doug Addison, Los Angeles, CA on the Elijah List. I’ve been following Doug Addison for many years as I’ve been growing in my prophetic calling.
Doug shared a powerful word for this year and beyond. Get ready as you go through this new year’s journey with the Lord. Doug said “God is opening spiritual books of understanding and revealing your life’s purpose and calling. Many people are now stepping into the reason they were created.”
God will be releasing a bigger picture over the next few weeks as you pursue your God-ordained purpose and intentionally make each day count. We are encouraged in Ephesians 5:15-17 to be very careful how we live–not as unwise but as wise because the days are evil. To make the most of every opportunity, and not be foolish knowing what the will of the Lord is. God’s will is that we know who we are in Christ, and understand our purpose so that we can align ourselves with what He is doing. I’m personally gaining greater clarity of God’s purpose for me, and I’m excited to share this with you!
“For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.” (1 Corinthians 13:9-10 NIV)
In this word Doug says, “God is releasing the prophetic plans for this new year to you. “…Let the prophetic plan of the Holy One of Israel quickly come to pass so that we can see what it is!” (Isaiah 5:19 TPT)
God is bringing a new level of wisdom and understanding to the Body of Christ. Your ability to hear the Lord is going to take a sudden acceleration this year. Doug emphasizes that “God is releasing “completeness” as revelation and deeper understanding are starting this year. We have not had the full picture of what to do next, but this is changing as missing pieces are coming into place.”
It’s important that we discern what God is doing in the realm of the Spirit. A few days ago I was reviewing a some of the things I had written down a few years ago in December 2017 from the Book of Amos and shared it in a conversation with a friend. Amos 9:13 (MSG) reads “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings!”
I’ve been holding fast to this Scripture since that time. I share this because of the Apostle Paul’s encouragement to Timothy on the importance of holding on to and waging warfare over the prophetic words he received until they begin to manifest in his life. (1 Timothy 1:18 ) I actually shared a word of Facebook (@goingbeyondchurch) and Youtube on “What Do We Do With Prophetic Words”.
Doug Addison notes that a sudden acceleration will take begin to place. “Things are going to happen suddenly, so get ready for positive changes that will bring exciting surprises.” His scriptural reference is no other than Amos 9:13 (MSG). God is always faithful to confirm His Word.
Doug says, It will be like “log jams suddenly being broken open, and backlogs of blessings will start to flow. This will include finances and spiritual advancement. You will start getting deeper revelation, wisdom and understanding.”

I have definitely been praying for wisdom and understanding in this new season. God is calling His people into a deeper revelation of who He is and we are in Him. Doug ends by saying “Your life’s purpose is going to be revealed, and many people are going to get healed and set free this year!” Praise God!
How God is going to do this I don’t know, but after a long drought I’m getting ready for showers of blessings. (Ezekiel 34:26) I hear the Lord saying, “My child. attend your ear to my Word.” “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. (Proverbs 4:20 NIV) I encourage you to faithfully and intentionally pursue your life’s purpose this year with diligence. God is preparing to do some miraculous things in 2020 and beyond. You don’t want to miss it!
