The sower sows the word. Mark 4:14 (NKJV)
In Mark Chapter 4, “The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’ Isaiah 6:9-10
Let’s get back to Mark 4:
16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
Jesus wasn’t trying to keep people in the dark, nor is He today. He wanted to whet the appetite of those who were really hungry for the truth. He wants to do the same for you today.The Lord desires to reveal His mysteries through His Word, and through dreams and visions. He wants to lure us to want more so that we will press in to know more.
Paul prayed for the Ephesians that, “the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
This should be our prayer today. There are mysteries and secrets God desires to release to the Church that we must be hungry to search out. “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” (Deuteronomy 29:29)
God likes to reveal rather than conceal. He wants to stir within us our natural inclination to search out answers (Proverbs 25:2). For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed at the appropriate time. The Lord speaks mysteries, secrets, whose meaning is hidden except to those whose who have the heart to search them out.
We must be thoroughly grounded in the Word of God while being led by the Holy Spirit at the same time. The Word of God is an anchor to our soul! We need filter out the negativity, and take time daily to study and meditate on God’s Word to renew our minds and refuel our spirits. It is our grounding, our sure foundation, our faith that will keep us in these uncertain times.
Mercy, peace and love be your in abundance!
