“The heavens tell of the of the glory of God. And their expanse declares the work of His hands. ” (Psalm 19:1)
God’s glory is seen in creation. The heavens keep telling the wonders of God, and the skies declare the work of his hands. Day after day pours forth speech of His goodness, and night after night reveals His knowledge.
My spirit was grieved early this morning after reading about the ongoing chaos and confusion taking place around the world. The Spirit reminded me that “The glory is coming!” It has been 19 years since in 2004 I first sense the Spirit say, “The glory is coming! The glory is coming!” I promptly looked up what the biblical number 19 means. It is the combining of 10 and 9. This combination usually denotes God’s perfect order concerning his judgment in the Bible.1 What captured me was that Psalms 19 was written by King David. It declares that the heavens are a living testament to God’s existence. Everything else humans see reflects the glory and power of God. The Apostle Paul reiterates this truth in Romans 1:19. He writes, “Because that which may be known of God is manifested among them. God has manifested them.”
Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones said in “Revival, “The chief motive in evangelism is the glory of God, and the desire to see God’s glory manifested. It can all be summed up, therefore, in this one petition of Moses: ‘Shew me thy glory.’ And, if this is not the deepest desire of our hearts there is something seriously and sadly defective in our whole position. Our chief desire at this moment should be, with the world as it is, and the Church as she is, that the glory of God might be manifested amongst us, and before our wondering gaze.”2
There is an urgent need of revival in the church today. It’s important that we as Christians understand the doctrines of Christian faith. Only then can we ever hope to see the need of revival and pray for it.
The glory is coming!
Be encouraged.
