America’s Current Spiritual and Political Crisis
Today, many Americans are deeply concerned about the direction of our country. There’s a growing sense that national pride, political division, and the rise of leaders who lack moral integrity have led us down a path that’s not only troubling politically, but spiritually as well. The news is filled with stories of bitter fights, finger-pointing, and an almost tribal loyalty to parties, often at the expense of truth and justice. In such an environment, we must ask ourselves: are we conspiring and plotting in vain, just as Psalm 2:1 warns?
The Dangers of National Pride and Party-Line Voting
National pride, when rooted in arrogance or superiority, can blind us to our faults and keep us from seeking God’s will. Similarly, voting strictly along party lines—without considering the righteousness or character of candidates—can lead us to support leaders who are more interested in power than in serving the common good. The Bible makes it clear that God is not impressed by empty shows of strength or political maneuvering; in fact, such things are detestable to Him when they become idols that replace true faith and justice.
