Faith is not pretending that challenges are not real. Faith is choosing to believe that God is more real than the challenge in front of us. It is trusting what He has promised, even when our natural eyes cannot see it yet. Faith stands on this truth: if God said it, He is faithful to bring it to pass in His perfect time.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. In simple words, faith gives our hearts something to stand on before our hands have something to hold. It is the inner proof that God’s promise is alive, even while the outward evidence is still forming.
Over this 30-year journey of faith, there have been many promises, revelations, and prophetic words about things I could not see with my natural eyes. Some seasons tested my patience. Some seasons tested my understanding. Some seasons required me to believe while everything around me looked opposite of what God had spoken. But faith taught me that delay is not denial, silence is not absence, and waiting is not wasted when God is the One holding the promise.
The life of faith is not always comfortable, but it is always anchored. Second Corinthians 5:7 says that we walk by faith, not by sight. That means we do not let what we see have the final word. We let God’s Word have the final word. Circumstances may speak loudly, but the promise of God speaks with authority.
Seeing the unseen by faith means looking past the present moment and trusting God for the future He has promised. Habakkuk 2:3 reminds us that the vision is for an appointed time. It may seem slow, but it will not be late. God does not forget what He has spoken. He watches over His Word, and when the appointed time comes, what was once unseen will become visible.
God’s Word builds our faith. Romans 10:17 teaches that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. The more we hear, read, speak, and meditate on what God has said, the more our hearts become trained to believe Him over fear, doubt, delay, and disappointment. His Word gives us spiritual sight. It helps us carry an inner picture of what God is preparing before we ever see it in the natural.
God is not limited by time the way we are. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What He promises does not expire. What He speaks does not lose power. Heaven is not trying to catch up with earth; earth must come into agreement with what heaven has already declared. Faith helps us agree with God before our circumstances line up with what He said.
There comes a point when we must surrender our own thoughts and allow God to renew our minds. We have to stop letting fear interpret our future. We have to stop letting delay define God’s faithfulness. The Holy Spirit opens our eyes, softens our hearts, and teaches us to hear what God is saying. The things of God are not always understood by natural sight; they are revealed by the Spirit.
If you are in a waiting season, do not measure God’s promise by what has not happened yet. Measure it by the character of the One who promised. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep speaking the Word. Keep your heart open. Faith does not mean you never feel tired; it means you refuse to let weariness have the final say.
First Corinthians 2:9 says that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has imagined the things God has prepared for those who love Him. That means God’s plan is bigger than our present view. We may only see fragments, but God sees the full picture. By His Spirit, He gives us glimpses, hope, strength, and faith to keep moving forward.
So do not throw away your confidence. Do not surrender your promise to discouragement. Do not allow what you see today to cancel what God spoke over your tomorrow. Keep believing. Keep standing. Keep trusting the God who sees the end from the beginning. What you cannot see yet may still be very real. Faith is how we hold on to the promise until the day God brings it into view.
May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you believe. May the power of the Holy Spirit strengthen your heart, renew your vision, and cause you to overflow with hope until what you have been believing for becomes what you are standing in.
